Ashford Hobby was started in 1997 to provide track side support for the New England on-road racing series. Ashford Hobby's first web site was launched in the spring of 1998 and since then we have had the pleasure of meeting quite a lot of new racers who have become customers and friends.
We enjoy strong relationships with Serpent, Kyosho America, Sigma Trading Company, R. C. America, Corally USA, Werks Racing, Mugen Seiki, Calandra Racing Concepts, Jaco Racing, Molzer Mowery Racing, Competition Products, Mico, Empire Racing and Delta Manufacturing. These relationships and our policy of stocking significant small parts means we can keep you racing no matter what your needs may be.
In 1998 we installed an inventory control system, Microsoft RMS, which allows us to keep close tabs on inventory and parts orders. We are very proud of our reputation for having the right parts to keep our customers on the track.
In 2004 Ashford Hobby went full time and relocated to Central PA. With more room to work with we expanded our product lines and increased the depth of our selection. We haven't out grown our current space so expect more new offerings in the future.
In an effort to offer a higher level of service we began to look at ways of sharing our inventory over the net with our customers at a price that a small company like Ashford Hobby could afford. Since we service a racer market and it is critical that the right part get to the racer at the right time. The need for a real time inventory display on the net was critical. In 2005 we selected LaGarde StoreFront and NeWesTech to provide the solution and began building the site you see today. On July of 2006 the site when live and it will most likely take a year or more to get images and descriptions attached to all our 9,000 item inventory so keep checking back as we never stop working. There have been a lot of issues to over come but we are confident that we are on the right track and we have more features planned for the future.
