The chassis plate is updated for the new split radio box mounting configuration that helps to significantly improve overall traction and ensures perfect & balanced side-to-side flex.
The chassis is an important component that affects the XB8’s handling characteristics. The chassis’ dimensions and flex characteristics are selected for the best blend of stability, traction, and steering.
The chassis is CNC-machined from high-quality 3mm Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum; strategically machined in low-stress areas and then anodized to make it as light as possible without affecting strength or rigidity.
The radio box features new split design that ensures a perfect left to right side flex characteristics that helps to generate more overall traction. All the electronics are mounted inside of the temperature resistant Hard composite box. This flex configuration and material composition improve the overall traction of the car.
The radio box is fitted to the chassis with three screws in front and three screws in the rear to achieve perfect stability for the servo mounting. To facilitate easier handling, the front and rear sections of the box are connected at the bottom.
The electronics assembly is very compact and can be quickly & easily removed for servicing and cleaning. It requires removing only a few screws from the bottom of the chassis to remove the entire electronics assembly from the car.
The large, molded radio box features a very clean design and layout that places the weight in key areas for proper balance. The batteries are placed along the front centerline of the chassis, while the lighter receiver is placed on its side at the rear. The easy-access radio box is mounted on the side of the car and is secured by the fewest possible screws.
