The chassis plate design is updated for mounting the new covered receiver box, electronics plate and the new battery trays. The updated layout with new positions for the electronics and batteries helps improve weight balance and handling.
The chassis is an important component that affects the XB8E’s handling characteristics. The chassis’ dimensions and flex characteristics are selected for the best blend of stability, traction, and steering.
The chassis is CNC-machined from high-quality 3mm Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum; strategically machined in low-stress areas and then anodized to make it as light as possible without affecting strength or rigidity.
New Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum shock towers feature lowered shock mounting positions for both the front and rear suspension. The lower mounting positions increase the overall stability of the car across all surfaces, as well as help increase cornering speeds. By carefully selecting the new tower geometry, the single row of shock mounting positions simplifies the set-up process to optimize performance for any track condition.
The front & rear shock towers are CNC-machined from 4mm Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum for strength and durability. The front shock tower features 4mm shock mounting holes for increased durability and rigidity.
The shorter XB8E shocks carry over multi-adjustable 3-in-1 shock caps with 4 bleed holes with 3 different seal choices – ribbed membrane, cell membrane, or O-ring. The shorter shocks feature 3 different assembly alternatives – emulsion / rebound / zero rebound, with each one suitable for different track conditions.
