This is an aluminum bodied pressure chamber that is used for on-road and off-road cars. It mounts on the pressure line that goes in-between the pipe and take lid.
It will help in stabilizing back pressure in high speed sweepers, braking and acceleration.  Sometimes it can be useful for off-road cars to stop sudden flame out when leaving pits when the tank lid is closed suddenly.
